Position Overview:

The Business Continuity Architect plays a pivotal role in crafting, executing, and sustaining comprehensive business continuity strategies that guarantee the resilience and recovery of organizational operations during disruptions or crises. This position is essential for protecting the company's assets, data, and overall operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Architecture:
Develop and evaluate technical documentation for the Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP).
Serve as a crucial link for both technical and non-technical discussions and materials.

Business Continuity Planning:

  • Formulate, execute, and uphold business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, policies, and protocols.
  • Conduct business impact assessments (BIAs) to pinpoint critical functions, dependencies, and potential risks.
  • Devise strategies to mitigate risks and assure operational continuity during and following disruptions.

Risk Assessment and Management:

  • Carry out regular risk evaluations to uncover vulnerabilities within the organization's infrastructure and processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement risk reduction strategies and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

BCP Architecture Design:

  • Design and document the overarching BCP architecture, including backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of BCP architecture with the organization's IT framework and business operations.
  • Work closely with IT teams to integrate disaster recovery solutions with existing systems.

Incident Response and Crisis Management:

  • Coordinate response initiatives during actual incidents, ensuring recovery efforts align with the BCP.
  • Act as a primary contact during crises, providing leadership and direction for effective recovery.
  • Review and enhance the BCP post-incident to incorporate insights gained.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure BCP plans meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding BCP readiness, testing outcomes, and incident responses.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory evaluations.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with business unit leaders to ensure comprehensive coverage of all critical functions within the BCP.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to incorporate third-party services into continuity plans.
  • Provide training and support to personnel on BCP processes and protocols.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is advantageous.

Experience:
Significant experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or risk management is essential. Previous exposure to IT architecture or systems engineering is highly desirable.

Certifications:
Certification as a Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar credentials is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with disaster recovery tools and software.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles in relation to business continuity.
