Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our North Corps facility. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction to ensure the successful operation of our programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement overall strategies, priorities, and direction for the North Corps facility.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure the effective management of day-to-day operational activities, including team schedules and routine matters.
  • Collaborate with Corps Officers and other members of the leadership team to create a culture of continuous learning and improvement, promoting best practices and innovative solutions to advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Ensure the implementation of all local risk management and emergency procedures, as well as all established TSA policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage capital improvement plans and projects in conjunction with Divisional Headquarters.
  • Support and guide Officers in establishing goals and developing policies, procedures, budgets, and programs that fulfill and advance the mission of TSA.
  • Maintain an active presence and represent the North Corps in community groups and public forums, as directed.
  • Provide oversight of North Corps center-wide events to ensure they meet strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate with Corps Officers, Divisional, and Territorial personnel on projects, including fundraising in support of programs and mission advancement.
  • Build community partnerships and maintain contact with potential and current donors, external community groups, and other potential partners.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in business or equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience in organizational management and leadership.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work/communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and program staff without prejudice.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to access website for timekeeping and pay purposes.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • English proficiency required; Spanish language skill helpful.
Working Conditions

The majority of the workday will be in a mixed environment, including offices, service counters, and other program spaces. In addition, portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid (natatorium) while other locations (gymnasium) may be considered moderately loud in nature.
