This position is integral to the Lunar Permanence division, responsible for advancing Blue Origin's various Blue Moon lander product lines.
Objective: To support our vision of enabling millions to live and work in space, we are constructing sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
Role: We are in search of an Avionics Systems Engineer to play a critical role in our innovative Zero Boil Off (ZBO) cryocooler initiative, aimed at pushing the frontiers of aerospace technology.
The ideal candidate will be key in developing sophisticated avionics systems essential for the success of this program, bringing extensive industry knowledge to the design, integration, and testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team to define and enhance avionics sub-system and component specifications.
- Work alongside other Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure the comprehensive avionics solution aligns with program requirements (Electrical, Software, Integration & Testing).
- Formulate and implement detailed testing strategies for the validation and verification of avionics systems.
- Oversee documentation related to system design, testing protocols, and outcomes for internal use and compliance with regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in the avionics sector.
- Experience throughout the full development cycle.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience across all levels of avionics development (circuit card design, box level design, systems design).
- Prior experience in developing avionics for in-space applications.
- Familiarity with formal verification standards (DO-254, DO-178, etc.).
