About the Role

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Avionics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and verifying high-performance avionics hardware systems for our reusable suborbital rocket, New Shepard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver Avionics hardware systems
  • Design, develop, and verify high-performance avionics hardware for various flight vehicles
  • Integrate with our rocket program and technical leads to drive requirements definition, modeling, analysis, design, test, and production release of on-vehicle launch, flight, and power management components and sub-systems
  • Follow avionics designs through formal verification, environmental qualification, release, and participate in flight support activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in the design of complex hardware
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related subject areas
  • 12+ years of experience in design, development, integration, test, and operation of Avionics systems or vehicles
  • Proven experience specifying and crafting high reliability safety-critical electronics; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254, and similar standards
