About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Development Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our avionics team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing avionics systems for our spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop avionics systems, including hardware and software components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate avionics systems with other spacecraft systems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans
  • Conduct testing and validation of avionics systems to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements
  • Work with the avionics architecture team to develop and implement avionics system architectures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of rapid development of microcontroller-based systems
  • Experience with requirements development, verification, and tracking
  • Experience with circuit development, test, and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree in an appropriate engineering field
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS
  • Launch vehicle avionics integration experience
  • Experience with GPS and inertial navigation systems, computing/processing system development, networking, power conditioning and distribution, instrumentation, and valve/motor control
  • 2+ years of experience with avionics or electrical systems design

At Blue Origin, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $92,430.00-$129,402.00, depending on location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
