Position Overview:
As a Substance Testing Collection Coordinator, you will be responsible for executing various specimen collection procedures, including drug screening, oral fluid testing, and breath alcohol assessments. You will ensure compliance with established protocols and maintain the integrity of the collection process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Authenticate donor identification before conducting urine or oral fluid collections, adhering to both DOT and Non-DOT standards.
  • Provide clear explanations of the testing procedures and address any inquiries from donors.
  • Confirm the identity of donors and the rationale for testing, in line with program specifications for various testing scenarios.
  • Conduct all DOT drug screenings in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Guide donors through the collection process with detailed instructions.
  • Assess the validity of specimens prior to submission for laboratory analysis.
  • Complete the chain of custody documentation during the collection process.
  • Understand the protocols for conducting observed collections when necessary.
  • Collaborate with management for assistance with complex collection situations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any hazardous conditions encountered.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification in drug and alcohol testing is necessary.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Willingness to complete DOT urine collection training and obtain certification as a DOT Collector and Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) post-hire.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Proficient in using technology, including computers and mobile devices.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations for sample collection.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the drug testing or healthcare sectors.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and CalOSHA regulations.
  • Bilingual skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Travel to designated sites for sample collection as required.
  • Collect essential information from donors and verify their identities.
  • Utilize electronic chain of custody systems effectively.
  • Ensure accurate labeling of all samples.
  • Package and send samples and associated documentation to appropriate destinations.
Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Current auto insurance coverage.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of HIPAA/PHI regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor and self-motivated work ethic.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer usage, including internet access and printing capabilities.
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings.
