Job Summary

Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc. (TWE) is a leading geotechnical firm seeking a skilled Driller Assistant to join our Field Services Division in Beaumont, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will assist our Driller with various field activities, including drilling and sampling of geotechnical test borings, and installation of wells.

Responsibilities
  • Field Operations: Assist Driller with all field activities, including drilling and sampling of geotechnical test borings, and installation of wells.
  • Labor-Intensive Projects: Physically complete labor-intensive projects assigned by the Driller/Project Coordinator/Project Manager.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all TWE equipment and field operations, and monitor the performance of all TWE equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, safety paperwork, and vehicle & equipment inspections.
  • Safety and Compliance: Attend all safety meetings and comply with both TWE and client safety standards and programs.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized working environment, including equipment and job site areas.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Able to read and write in English.
  • Criminal Background Check: Able to pass a background check.
  • Drug Testing: Able to pass an initial, random, and annual hair follicle drug test.
  • Driver's License: Hold a Texas Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Able to physically implement work duties assigned in various weather elements, and physically implement any changes and conduct maintenance to equipment, which will require heavy lifting.
  • Customer Relations: Willing to work diligently and take ownership over work, and facilitate positive, professional customer relations.
  • Continuous Learning: Willing to learn, ask questions, and offer new ideas and suggestions.
  • Travel: Available for frequent travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security Clearance: TWIC card.
  • Industry Certifications: ISTC Basic Plus, HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification.
