Overview:
This role is essential in providing administrative and clerical support while facilitating patient care activities within a medical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the accuracy of patient records, including personal details and insurance information.
2. Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring effective communication.
3. Manage incoming calls, directing them appropriately, taking messages, and ensuring clear information flow.
4. Handle patient registration, verification, and appointment scheduling, including tests and referrals.
5. Reschedule appointments for patients who cancel or do not show up.
6. Process requests for medical records, including copying, billing, and documentation.
7. Collect co-payments and ensure accurate financial reconciliation.
8. Coordinate the retrieval of medical records for both new and returning patients.
9. Conduct audits as required.
10. Process medical records and related documents through electronic means.
11. Uphold a professional demeanor and appearance.
12. Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
13. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency in MS Outlook, data entry, and strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Experience:
Minimum of six months in a relevant role.
Preferred:
Experience with Practice Management Systems, medical office environments, and MS Excel.
Compensation:
Competitive per diem rate.
