About the Role

The Director of Business Development at RNGD is essential in leading new business ventures across New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area. Working closely with senior leadership, you will identify strategic opportunities and build lasting relationships with potential clients. Your responsibilities will encompass not only client acquisition but also the management and coordination of a comprehensive business development strategy. By promoting collaboration among teams, you will align efforts with organizational objectives while focusing on value creation and customer satisfaction.

  • Revenue Enhancement and Brand Development:
    • Drive revenue growth while enhancing the company's market presence and brand strength.
  • Opportunity Discovery and Negotiation:

    • Assist leadership in negotiating and finalizing agreements with new clients, utilizing industry expertise and relationship-building skills.
  • Networking and Lead Generation:
    • Utilize personal and professional networks to generate leads and uncover new business opportunities.
    • Actively engage in networking events to broaden the company's reach and cultivate leads.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Oversee key client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and nurturing long-term partnerships.
    • Establish connections with potential clients, initiating and developing relationships.
    • Reach out to prospective clients through various communication channels to establish business relationships and schedule meetings.
    • Travel to meet potential clients, demonstrating a commitment to engagement.
  • Industry and Community Involvement:
    • Participate in industry events and conferences to promote the organization, foster relationships, and generate leads.
    • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of company offerings to identify lucrative business opportunities and tailor solutions to client needs.
    • Actively represent the organization in the community, building strong market connections.
  • RFP Management:
    • Develop strategic approaches for each RFP opportunity.
    • Oversee the creation of proposal content, ensuring it is compelling, well-organized, and meets all outlined requirements.
    • Clearly communicate the unique value proposition of the company's offerings, highlighting key differentiators.
    • Ensure proposals comply with all specified requirements and instructions.
    • Prepare for client presentations or interviews.
    • Conduct post-submission analyses to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead the Business Development team, providing guidance and support to achieve organizational goals.
    • Manage the daily execution of the strategic Business Development plan, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Foster an entrepreneurial growth mindset within the team and organization.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives.
    • Regularly monitor progress against targets and provide timely reporting to senior management.
    • Continuously assess performance, identify improvement areas, and implement strategies to optimize client engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business generation and project acquisition, preferably in the commercial construction industry.
  • Proven success in securing projects and driving revenue growth within the commercial construction sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the end-to-end RFP process effectively.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering client presentations as part of the RFP process.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor staff and provide strategic direction in business development initiatives.
