Position Overview:

The Building Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities and surrounding grounds. This position is responsible for setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment for various programs and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of all interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of facilities such as restrooms, kitchens, and fitness areas.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for various events.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts throughout the facility.
  • Conduct high-level cleaning in public areas including lobbies and entryways.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas including sidewalks and landscaping.
  • Carry out minor maintenance and repairs to building systems and grounds.
  • Keep track of cleaning supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Operate and manage various facility systems including lighting and HVAC.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the facilities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in custodial services or minor maintenance preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

This position may require working in various conditions, including exposure to different temperatures and weather elements. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift items up to 50 pounds. Must possess the ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
