Typical Duties:

  • Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming floors.
  • Extract carpets and operate various cleaning equipment.
  • Sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
  • Dust and clean offices while ensuring the safety of documents and materials.
  • Clean windows and mirrors at various heights.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling across multiple floors.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions according to specified instructions.
  • Respond to special cleaning requests and manage supply inventory.
  • Maintain building security and perform periodic checks.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for work order management and communication.

Requirements:
Graduation from high school or equivalent, along with some experience in janitorial practices, is preferred. The selected candidate must pass a criminal history background check and possess a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness:
Marion County qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, allowing eligible employees to potentially have their remaining loan balance forgiven after meeting specific criteria.

Veterans' Preference:
Applicants may utilize Veterans' Preference in accordance with applicable regulations.
