Summary:
The Patient Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the food service operations across all patient care areas within the hospital. This includes the assembly and delivery of patient meals, snacks, supplements, and food supplies outside of regular meal service times.

In partnership with the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Executive Chef, this role provides valuable input on therapeutic diet compliance, patient meal and cafeteria menu development, and collaborates on managing the food service software program.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of supervisors and patient services team members involved in the storage, preparation, and serving of food for patients.

2. Reviews and assesses current operational methods and procedures of the Food and Nutrition Services program to ensure effectiveness and compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including TJC, DOH, and CMS. Establishes policies and procedures that facilitate the delivery of patient food services and effectively communicates these to all stakeholders.

3. Enhances the patient experience by consistently monitoring patient satisfaction scores and sharing this data during team meetings.

4. Implements strategies to improve quality, food temperature, and service courtesy scores.

5. Develops and maintains a measurable, results-oriented Quality Assurance Program that ensures optimal patient service and safety, aligning with hospital standards.

6. Adjusts staffing and work patterns for the patient services team based on performance metrics.

7. Collaborates with the Executive Chef and Clinical Nutrition Manager in menu development to enhance patient satisfaction scores, monitors tray delivery parameters, and refines processes to minimize performance discrepancies.

8. Conducts onboarding training for new hires.
9. Ensures a clean and safe working environment by overseeing sanitation and safety protocols within the department.

10. Manages nutrition staff schedules and oversees payroll approval for all patient tray delivery personnel.

Credentials:
Education or Equivalent Experience:
A Bachelor of Arts or Science in Nutrition/Food Service or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Nutrition/Food Service or a related field is essential.
