Position Overview:

Registered Dietitian Compensation: $36.96 / hour (Potential for Increased Earnings with Experience)

Pediatric Specialty Care is in search of a dedicated and empathetic Registered Dietitian for a part-time role.

The Registered Dietitian will deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy through thorough nutrition evaluations, conduct Nutrition Focused Physical Exams, and adhere to the standards established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This professional will comply with state regulations and safety protocols to enhance the health and wellness of our residents through tailored nutrition strategies, meal planning, and clinical guidelines.

Dietitian Shift Details:

  • We are looking to fill a schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility in shift times.

Dietitian Employment Status:

  • Part-time: Three 7.5-hour shifts per week, with flexibility in scheduling, Benefit eligible.

Key Responsibilities of the Registered Dietitian:

  • Conduct nutrition assessments for pediatric patients (up to age 21) in a pediatric care environment, adhering to company policies and care standards.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and document individualized nutrition care plans based on current best practices.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to residents and their families.
  • Maintain accurate resident nutrition information in the electronic system.
  • Conduct routine audits and monitor performance improvement initiatives related to nutrition and food service.
  • Participate actively in resident care plan meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, and other relevant programs.
  • Stay informed about federal and state regulations regarding nutritional services in pediatric settings.
  • Serve as a nutrition consultant for the administrative team and multidisciplinary medical staff.
  • Act as a mentor for Dietetic students and interns, as well as a supervisor for Dining Service Aides.
  • Conduct in-service training for dietary and facility staff as needed.
  • Assist with departmental oversight as required.
  • Utilize electronic timekeeping systems as directed.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Adhere to the facility's dress code and professional standards.
  • Follow policies regarding electronic devices and communication.
  • Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Pediatric Specialty Care.
  • Comply with the business code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications for the Registered Dietitian:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics.
  • Completion of an internship or equivalent clinical and management practice qualifying for Professional Registration.
  • Active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Current, valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
  • Preferred active membership in The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Certification as a Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) in the state of employment.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred.
  • Serv Safe certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and nutritional software programs is preferred.
