About the Role

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Student Success Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Marketing, Outreach, Recruitment, and Retention (MORR) team, you will play a critical role in supporting the success of online students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation, guidance, and general advisement to prospective and current online students to ensure their academic success.
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations, programs, and workshops to large and small audiences to meet student needs.
  • Manage and maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations, school policies, and other State and Federal laws.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and support organizations to connect online students to campus resources.
  • Represent the University of New Mexico to organizations interested in online degree programs.
  • Prepare reports and proposals regarding recruitment and outreach activities and respond to inquiries from students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the unique needs, concerns, and issues facing online students.
  • Knowledge of the University's admission requirements and application processes, as they apply to online students.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to manage and maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations, school policies, and other State and Federal laws.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working at a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience working with online programs and/or taking online classes.
  • Prior experience working with non-traditional college students, including transfer students, students with some college, but no degree, adult learners, and/or career advancers.
  • Prior experience delivering presentations to large and small groups.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
