The Student Success System Facilitator will play a crucial role in the advancement, execution, assessment, and ongoing enhancement of the institution's Student Success System (SSS). This system is designed to ensure the early detection, outreach to families, and intervention for students who meet one or more risk or need criteria concerning their academic performance, behavior, and attendance. Furthermore, the system is aligned with the school's comprehensive improvement strategies, including family and community engagement and school climate initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent is expected to accomplish the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:
PRIMARY DUTIES: In addition to the essential functions of this position, the incumbent must carry out the following responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the school principal to oversee the development and ongoing enhancement of the Student Success System.
- Establishes, leads, and mentors the Student Success System team within the school.
- Works alongside leadership to set expectations for staff, provide training and support, and ensure accountability measures are in place to guarantee that interventions are executed, documented, and monitored effectively.
- Facilitates access to data, ensures its utilization, provides training, and tracks progress so that staff can consistently identify and assist students needing additional support to thrive.
- Identifies professional development needs and offers training, coaching, and resources to enable staff to utilize actionable data for addressing student needs, promote a shared student-centered approach, integrate best practices that foster agency, belonging, and connectedness in classrooms, and cultivate supportive family and community relationships to enhance student outcomes.
- Aligns SSS processes and initiatives with the school's objectives, plans, and procedures.
- Aids in the formulation and execution of aligned school improvement strategies that incorporate targeted SSS approaches, ensuring that essential elements and deadlines are integrated into the SSS and its operations.
- Monitors various data sets related to students, classrooms, grade levels, target populations, and the school to ensure early identification of students, documented interventions, activation of supports, family engagement, and successful outcomes.
- Identifies and supports the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of family engagement, student voice and choice, school climate, and community partnership strategies as vital components of an effective Student Success System.
- Adheres to the state-approved Code of Ethics for the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives, regulations, school board policies, and local, state, and federal laws.
- Communicates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and values of the educational institution.
- Ensures the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Prepares and maintains accurate and comprehensive records and reports as mandated by law, state directives, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Shares responsibility for the supervision and care of district resources, ensuring the proper and safe use of facilities, equipment, and supplies, and promptly reporting safety hazards.
- Maintains professional relationships and collaborates effectively with colleagues, the community, and other professionals.
- Pursues professional growth through individual and group training, in-service educational activities, and self-directed professional development.
- Participates in staff meetings and engages in committees relevant to the area of responsibility.
- Performs additional tasks related to the area of responsibility as requested or assigned by a supervisor.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
- Experience in supporting the development and execution of school attendance or improvement plans.
- Knowledge of attendance regulations and district procedural directives.
- Proficient in accessing, analyzing, and utilizing data to identify student and school needs.
- Strong foundational knowledge of academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions/MLSS.
- Familiarity with Special Education and the IEP process.
- Experience in training and/or coaching adults in learning and change processes.
- Strong systems thinking capabilities and the ability to align strategies and practices with overarching priorities and goals.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license appropriate to the assignment.
- A minimum of five years of experience teaching students in K-12 settings.
