Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher for Hearing Impaired Students to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the unique needs of hearing impaired students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with students, parents, and other educators to create personalized learning plans that address the specific needs of each student.
  • Teach and Support Hearing Impaired Students: Provide instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, using a variety of teaching methods and materials to ensure effective learning.
  • Communicate with Parents and Colleagues: Maintain open and regular communication with parents and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Regularly assess and evaluate student progress, making adjustments to instruction and support as needed to ensure that students meet their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with Other Educators: Work collaboratively with other educators, including general education teachers and related service providers, to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and coordinated education.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: A Bachelor's degree and a current New Mexico teaching certificate endorsed in the area of special education for hearing impaired students are required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
