Asset Protection Specialist

Location: Distribution Center

As an Asset Protection Specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the resources of Michaels Stores by implementing and upholding safety protocols and security measures.

  • Traffic Control: Manage the flow of incoming and outgoing vehicles, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and securing loads appropriately.
  • Access Management: Oversee card access and badge systems, along with key control for the facility. Conduct thorough checks at the end of shifts.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate and document any incidents or accidents that occur on-site, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct regular audits and assessments related to the safety and security of the facility and its personnel.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold the department's code of conduct while adhering to all safety and security policies.
  • After Hours Support: Participate in the after-hours program, addressing delivery notifications and issues through effective communication.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
  • Monitoring Systems: Regularly monitor fire, intrusion, and access control systems, responding promptly to any alarms. Maintain the CCTV system to ensure operational integrity.
  • Safety Awareness: Promote safety awareness programs and address any safety concerns, assisting in orientations for new team members.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training or certification is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn related systems.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
  • Organizational Skills: Effective organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt to varying work paces.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing and walking within the facility.
  • Regular office work, including tasks in the Trailer Control Center.
  • Occasional physical activities such as reaching, bending, and lifting.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled setting, with regular exposure to the warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels from operational equipment.
