This is an exciting opportunity to join the Marion County team as a Mental Health Therapist 2 in our Crisis and Diversion Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and treatment services, crisis intervention, and treatment services to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor all individuals under civil commitment, while inpatient and in the community, and determine the necessity for and create trial visits.
- Perform post-commitment and investigations, as well as BRES services in various locations, including hospitals, correctional environments, private residences, and community organizations.
- Screen all referrals to the BRES program for appropriateness and provide intake evaluation, setting service goals for clients' time in the program.
- Connect clients with community services, including benefits, community case management, community counseling, alcohol and drug programs, vocational resources, medical resources, and ongoing medication.
- Provide BRES brief counseling for clients on a limited, as-needed basis and participate in diversion program meetings weekly.
- Provide weekly mental health groups to participants of Lotus House and perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, or a behavioral science field.
- One year of post-master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.
- Licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or credentialed or registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
- Salem Hospital Privileges and State of Oregon Civil Commitment Coordination and Investigation Certification.
