Mental Health Therapist 2

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist 2 to join our Crisis and Diversion team in Salem, OR. As a key member of our team, you will provide assessment and treatment services, crisis intervention, and treatment services to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor all individuals under civil commitment, while inpatient and in the community, and determine necessity for and create trial visits.
- Provide consultation and training to hospitals, community members, and agencies regarding the civil commitment process and procedures.
- Screen all referrals to the BRES program for appropriateness and provide intake evaluation, setting service goals for clients' time in the program.
- Connect clients with community services, including benefits, community case management, community counseling, alcohol and drug programs, vocational resources, medical resources, and ongoing medication.
- Work closely with the Mental Health Specialist/Associates at Marion County Jail and Adult Behavioral Health, and the Psychiatric Crisis Center and Diversion Team to create alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization.
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, or a behavioral science field.
- One year of post-master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.
- Licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or credentialed or registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) within the first 30 days of employment.
We offer a generous benefits package to regular employees working 50% or more of the regularly scheduled work week and their eligible dependents. Temporary employees and part-time regular employees working less than 50% of the regularly scheduled work week are not eligible for benefits.
Regular and temporary employees are represented by MCEA. Salary and benefits are subject to union contract negotiations and may change as a result.
