Mental Health Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Marion County. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment services to individuals and families, including groups, crisis assessment and intervention services, and related duties as required.

- Develop and implement individual service plans in collaboration with the treatment team and other community providers.
- Provide case management and outreach services to clients, assisting them in accessing community supports and resources.
- Participate in individual service plan development, periodic review, and revision, ensuring the collaborative development of an individual service plan.
- Provide consultation, training, and orientation regarding mental health and co-occurring disorders treatment to team members, student interns, and other professionals.
- Develop a proactive safety/crisis plan, ensuring intervention to meet safety needs of children.
- Attend treatment reviews and discharge planning staffings at hospitals, residential centers, and day treatment programs to develop discharge/transition plans for the return of the child to the community.
- Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a behavioral science field, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon.
- Mental Health Therapist 2 Only: In addition to the educational requirements above, the Mental Health Therapist 2 must have at least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field.
- Must be either 1) licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, 2) licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or 3) credentialed or registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) within the first 30 days of employment.
- Must possess, or obtain within 60 days of hire, CANS certification (05 & 6-20).
This is a safety-sensitive/special needs position. Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including testing for marijuana.
BenefitsMarion County offers a generous benefits package to regular employees working 50% or more of the regularly scheduled work week and their eligible dependents. Temporary employees and part-time regular employees working less than 50% of the regularly scheduled work week are not eligible for benefits.
Salary and BenefitsSalary and benefits are subject to union contract negotiations and may change as a result.
