Key Responsibilities:

As the ECMO Program Manager, you will oversee the creation and execution of protocols, staff training, and quality assurance for the ECMO initiative.

Your role will also involve providing expert guidance on clinical operations. Additionally, you will serve as a backup for the ECMO Specialist as necessary.
• Develop and implement ECMO protocols and guidelines
• Ensure comprehensive training for staff on ECMO standards and technology
• Supervise ECMO personnel and uphold care standards
• Maintain compliance with documentation and reporting requirements
• Ensure equipment functionality and supply adequacy
• Act as a backup for the ECMO specialist as needed
• Participate in initial setup, circuit modifications, and therapy discontinuation
• Ensure safe and effective ECMO equipment setup and troubleshooting
• Maintain proficiency in pump technology
• Direct patient care responsibilities constitute 80% of the role
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess one of the following educational backgrounds and credentials:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Active RN license
• Respiratory Therapist (RT) with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and current RRT certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion with certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or equivalent qualifications
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science Degree in a healthcare-related field
• CPR or BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum of three years of ECMO experience
