Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled ECMO Specialist to join our team at SpecialtyCare. As an ECMO Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing life-saving support to patients requiring long-term pulmonary and/or cardiopulmonary support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.
- Assist physicians, perfusionists, and other clinical staff members with ECMO initiation, management, and conclusion.
- Monitor and adjust anticoagulation, analgesics, inotropes, and other infusions as needed.
- Assess blood gas values, anticoagulation parameters, and other laboratory values to maintain patients in an optimal state of well-being.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and continuity of ECMO circuit management.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license to practice, or Respiratory Therapist (RT) with current RRT certification, or Perfusionist with a Bachelor's Degree and CCP certification.
- Superior working knowledge of ECMO therapy, including ECMO circuit and pump operation, anticoagulation therapy, point-of-care testing, and patient monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
