POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides outstanding assistance to all members, visitors, and program participants. Addresses member and guest inquiries, advocates for memberships and programs, and ensures the lobby area is clean and well-organized.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Delivers exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, enhancing member retention.
  • Conducts interviews and/or tours tailored to the needs of potential members; promotes memberships.
  • Fosters relationships with members; assists members in connecting with each other and the YMCA.
  • Addresses and resolves membership issues, keeping supervisors informed of any unusual situations or unresolved matters.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in DAXKO operations, including but not limited to membership and program registrations.
  • Skilled in Daxko Engage, including but not limited to logging member interactions each shift, completing tasks, etc.
  • Competent in SmartStart scheduling.
  • Adheres to all Y policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Individuals must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

No formal education requirements. Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively relate to diverse groups from all social and economic backgrounds. Experience in multitasking is crucial.

REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to resolve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this position, employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Must be able to perform effectively within this environment.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequently required to communicate verbally and audibly. Required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers.

Vision abilities required for this position include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of members or employees of the organization.

New Employee Orientation; required to commence work, provided by the Y.
