Position Overview
We are in search of a proactive and experienced Senior Environmental Risk Assessor to enhance our esteemed Environmental Services division. The Senior Environmental Risk Assessor will act as a key technical expert and guide project teams managing a diverse portfolio of established clients in both public and private sectors. Key responsibilities will encompass technical leadership through active participation in industry associations, delivering presentations at conferences, and mentoring junior staff; overseeing risk assessment projects and tasks; and fostering and maintaining client relationships.

The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive background in environmental assessment and remediation consulting, alongside proven technical leadership in risk assessment and vapor intrusion, coupled with strong project management capabilities. A demonstrated history of successful human health risk assessment and vapor intrusion project execution is essential. Experience in ecological risk assessment oversight and regulatory site management strategies within CERCLA, RCRA, and state programs is advantageous. Existing client relationships are also beneficial. Some travel may be necessary, and professional registration is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in executing human health and ecological risk assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members, assisting in technical training and career development initiatives.
- Support clients in managing stakeholder activities related to contaminant toxicology, vapor intrusion, and risk assessment.
- Oversee project implementation, quality assurance/quality control, scheduling, and budget management.
- Engage in marketing activities and maintain regular communication with clients, agencies, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
- Develop project strategies and prepare risk assessment and vapor intrusion work plans and reports for CERCLA, RCRA, and other state-led initiatives.
- Effectively manage billable and non-billable time.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, or a related life science discipline from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in environmental risk assessment.
- Preferred strong experience in vapor intrusion.
- In-depth understanding of and current knowledge regarding applicable CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulations.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments on emerging contaminants is a plus.
- Preferred technical leadership and project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to manage multiple tasks (report writing, data analysis, technical project responsibilities, etc.).
- Ability to effectively address a wide range of project-related issues.
