The Senior Environmental Risk Assessor will act as a key technical expert, guiding project teams that cater to a diverse array of established clients across both public and private sectors. Responsibilities will encompass providing technical direction through engagement in industry associations, delivering presentations at conferences, and mentoring junior staff. Additionally, the role involves managing risk assessment projects, nurturing client relationships, and ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams in executing human health and ecological risk assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, facilitating their technical training and professional development.
  • Support clients in managing stakeholder interactions related to contaminant toxicology, vapor intrusion, and risk assessment.
  • Oversee project implementation, ensuring quality assurance/quality control, adherence to schedules, and budget management.
  • Engage in marketing activities and maintain regular communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
  • Develop project strategies and prepare comprehensive risk assessment and vapor intrusion work plans and reports for various regulatory frameworks.
  • Effectively manage both billable and non-billable time to optimize project outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in environmental risk assessment.
  • Preferred expertise in vapor intrusion.
  • Strong knowledge of current CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments for emerging contaminants is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and project management experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in addressing a wide range of project-related issues.
