About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. As a key member of our EHS team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage EHS Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain effective EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Provide EHS Training: Develop and deliver training programs to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and Maintain EHS Documentation: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS documentation, including policies, procedures, and records.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Regulatory Requirements: Monitor and stay current with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
Requirements
  • 4-8 years of experience in EHS, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental studies.
  • Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHP is highly desirable.
  • Experience with ISO management systems and EHS software is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
