Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care provided to residents. This position involves collaboration with the Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure the effective implementation of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the DON to analyze performance metrics and clinical outcomes, recommending and monitoring improvements.
  • Works alongside the Quality Team to develop clinical programs that adapt to the evolving needs of residents, ensuring positive health outcomes.
  • Acts as a key liaison among residents, families, and nursing staff, addressing inquiries and providing essential information regarding nursing services.
  • Conducts investigations into allegations of abuse or neglect, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements to appropriate authorities.
  • Assists in managing physician orders and coordinating doctor visits, as well as providing wound care and treatment.
  • Contributes to the preparation of the nursing department's annual budget, providing oversight and recommendations on personnel and medical equipment expenditures.
  • Engages in community outreach and events to promote the services and staff of Lutheran Homes Society Inc.
  • Supports the management team in staff training and professional development initiatives.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current RN License in the State of Ohio.
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of nursing management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Matrix software is advantageous.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
