Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Associate to join our team at MedStar Health. As an Environmental Services Associate, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain patient rooms, public areas, offices, and staff areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Perform terminal cleaning in operating rooms, patient rooms, patient restrooms, and public areas using UV machines.
  • Stock and maintain cleaning carts and supply closets, and mix cleaning solutions as needed.
  • Respond to requests for special cleaning tasks and perform project work such as buffing, stripping, and waxing floors, cleaning carpets, and washing windows.
Essential Functions
  • Clean patient rooms, including emptying trash, wiping down surfaces, cleaning the bathroom, and stocking supplies.
  • Clean other areas of nursing units and public, medical, and office areas, including nurses' stations, conference rooms, bathrooms, showers, storage rooms, offices, kitchens, and hospital entrances.
  • Perform high and low dusting, wipe exposed surfaces, replenish supplies, dry and wet mop, spot clean walls, and vacuum.
  • Report deficiencies in patient rooms and throughout the hospital to shift supervisors and facilitate management for action.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of directly relevant job-related experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • 0 to 6 months experience required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to comply with basic oral and written instructions.
Compensation

This position has a competitive salary range of $24,993.
