POSITION OVERVIEW

The Technical Project Leader is accountable for steering IT and OT initiatives across end-user computing, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and networking sectors, managing the project lifecycle while aligning with organizational strategies and goals. This role necessitates exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble and cultivate project teams for peak performance by providing clear objectives, direction, and motivation.
  • Guide IT and OT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet performance expectations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to thoroughly identify requirements, scope, financial parameters, and monthly forecasts.
  • Create detailed project plans and establish baselines, identifying critical paths, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and assess project status, milestones, tasks, and financial budgets against established baselines, addressing action items and ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Track monthly scheduling and budget metrics, alerting IT leadership to any issues that could hinder timely project completion.
  • Identify dependencies and assist teams in overcoming obstacles.
  • Conduct monthly resource planning and promptly report any workload and resource challenges.
  • Adhere to change management processes for any modifications to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage contracts, ensuring that scope, requirements, and timelines are clearly defined.
  • Update project schedules in Smartsheet on a weekly basis.
  • Revise project presentations weekly, reporting on milestone status, budget, issues, and risks to IT leadership, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, consistently evaluating and monitoring vendor performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical project management.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in Smartsheet or MS Project.
  • Exceptional attention to deadlines and budgetary constraints.
  • Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey project issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Experience in IT or OT is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a data center environment is a plus.
