EVONA specializes in the development and management of innovative small satellite systems that cater to a variety of space-based missions across multiple sectors. Our projects encompass a wide range of applications, including earth observation, communication, in-orbit demonstrations, and risk mitigation.
Position Overview
The Satellite Systems Project Leader will oversee the entire lifecycle of small satellite missions, from initial concept through to successful delivery. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in project management, deep technical knowledge of satellite systems and software, and a history of successfully managing intricate aerospace projects. This role demands effective collaboration with diverse teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure the successful execution of satellite missions aligned with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct project activities throughout all phases, from conceptual design to final delivery and launch services.
- Create and uphold comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource distribution.
- Facilitate coordination among project teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment across engineering, production, integration, software, and other relevant sectors.
- Track project progress and performance, taking corrective measures as needed to address challenges and risks.
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients.
- Provide clear and timely updates on project status, risks, and developments to senior management and stakeholders.
- Work alongside hardware and software engineering teams to tackle technical issues and enhance satellite design and functionality.
- Assist with regulatory agency applications.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage program risks, formulating strategies to ensure successful project results.
- Support business development initiatives by providing project budget estimates, timelines, risk assessments, and resource forecasts.
- Ensure the availability of necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, for effective project execution.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient project management skills, with experience in relevant tools and methodologies.
- Technical knowledge of satellite systems, encompassing design, integration, testing, and operational processes.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective interactions with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to satellite systems and space missions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in satellite program management, particularly with small satellite missions.
- Demonstrated success in managing aerospace projects from inception to completion.
Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel as necessary to support project activities, including meetings with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Eligibility to work on USG projects and obtain any required security clearances.
U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under applicable regulations is required.
