Position Summary:
College Housing Northwest (CHNW) is in search of a dedicated and full-time Assistant Facilities Manager. This role involves collaboration with teams across multiple housing communities. CHNW has a strong commitment to providing supportive housing solutions tailored to students, focusing on alleviating their financial challenges. The Assistant Facilities Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Facilities Manager, ensuring that maintenance services are delivered effectively to all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance tasks, while also overseeing technicians and external vendors.
- Conduct inspections and ensure quality control of work performed by maintenance staff and contractors.
- Manage and coordinate the timely completion of work orders, apartment renovations, and repairs.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards related to hazardous materials.
- Provide training to staff on the proper use of personal protective equipment and safety protocols.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and oversight of maintenance personnel.
- Support leadership in developing operational procedures, guidelines, and training resources.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of parts and materials to address maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property maintenance across various locations.
- At least 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC operations.
- Experience in managing staff and vendor schedules effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software.
- Certification as an Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) or equivalent is advantageous but not required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary for travel between communities.
