Key Responsibilities- Provide Direct Patient Care: Implement and maintain established nursing practice objectives and standards, providing direct patient care to residents.
- Recordkeeping and Coordination: Complete required recordkeeping while admitting, transferring, and discharging residents, coordinating with nursing staff and support personnel daily to plan shift services, programs, and activities.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications, reviewing medication cards for completeness and accuracy.
- Charting and Documentation: Chart nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident and resident's response to care.
- Supervision and Leadership: Supervise the day-to-day nursing and caregiving activities performed by CNAs, participating in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
- Confidentiality and HIPAA: Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Nursing Degree: Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure: Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a RN or LPN in this state.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
- Electronic Medical Records: Experience with Electronic Medical Records and computer documentation systems.
- Communication and Organization: Effective communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Customer Service: Customer service skills/experience required.
- Reimbursement Programs: Knowledge of reimbursement programs, Medicare, and Medicaid preferred.
