Job Overview

Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for assisting in the collection, management, and organization of various documents and records related to employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

To accommodate individuals with disabilities, reasonable adjustments may be implemented to facilitate the performance of essential duties.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the intake and evaluation of employee grievances.
  • Collect and analyze information pertaining to employee relations issues, including allegations of harassment and workplace complaints; notify the Director when further investigation is warranted.
  • Support the administration of documentation related to terminations, leaves of absence, transfers, and promotions.
  • Assist in the execution of surveys, interviews, and research pertinent to human resource policies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations governing labor relations and human resources.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, plans, policies, and documents concerning EEO, affirmative action, organizational structures, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.

Supervisory Duties

This role does not entail any supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee is expected to remain seated at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods. The individual must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds as needed.

Position Type and Work Hours

This is a full-time role, with specific hours to be determined by the supervisor.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in human resources administration is required, with a preference for experience in employee relations.
  • SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Background Check and Security Clearance

The position mandates the successful completion of a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
