Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain proper controls over assigned general ledger accounts by preparing entries, detailed reports, and financial statements to reflect the financial status and activities of MaineHealth.
  • Apply knowledge of accounting principles and accounting systems to maintain general ledgers and journals and prepare related statements and reports.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and systems, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
