Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team at MaineHealth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying principles of accounting and statistical analysis to maintain control and accountability in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain proper controls over assigned general ledger accounts by preparing entries, detailed reports, and financial statements to reflect the financial status and activities of MaineHealth.
- Apply knowledge of accounting principles and accounting systems to maintain general ledgers and journals and prepare related statements and reports.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accounting software and systems, including Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
