Role Overview:

The Radiation Safety Technician will be responsible for conducting tests and quality assurance evaluations on imaging devices and the utilization of radioactive materials. This role includes managing the health system's personnel radiation dosimeter program and overseeing the calibration of survey meters. Additionally, the technician will assist with various radiation safety and image quality tasks under the guidance of the Radiation Safety Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Medical Physicist Assistant tests and quality control assessments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all procedures and findings.
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer on safety protocols.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in performing quality control assessments on radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging systems is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of experience specifically in conducting Medical Physicist Assistant quality control evaluations on radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.

Educational Background:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with a BA/BS degree preferred. Completion of a Radiologic Technologist Degree Program is also necessary.

Licensure and Certification:

Current radiologic technologist license is mandatory, along with AART certification as a Radiologic Technologist. Preference will be given to candidates with a NJDEP Medical Physicist Assistant License.
