Financial Assistance Specialist

Position Overview:
The Financial Assistance Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering financial guidance to patients facing economic hardships. This position involves a thorough analysis of individual cases to identify and recommend suitable assistance programs. Responsibilities include facilitating formal payment arrangements, evaluating medical loan options, conducting Medicaid eligibility assessments, and managing the hospital's Charity Discount Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient registrations and maintain oversight of specific registration and verification tasks.
- Conduct registration audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Engage with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, and other relevant parties to maximize financial recovery.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and various welfare programs is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in computer applications is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform a full range of motion, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
