About Your Work

The Chief Clinical Officer of Altais Health Solutions will provide strategic clinical leadership and oversight for the division. This role is pivotal in driving quality improvement, risk adjustment, care management, medical management, utilization management, pharmacy, and provider engagement across the entire state of California. The Chief Clinical Officer will be instrumental in implementing innovative care models and technologies aimed at reducing the administrative burden on providers, enhancing patient care, and expanding Altais' network across California and beyond.

You Will Focus On:

Clinical Leadership:

  • Provide visionary clinical leadership to the Altais Health Solutions Network Division.
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies that align with organizational goals and improve patient outcomes.
  • Lead the execution and deployment of innovative care models and technologies.

Quality and Risk Adjustment:

  • Oversee quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
  • Manage front-end risk adjustment processes to optimize patient care and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Care Management:

  • Direct care management programs to enhance patient care coordination and outcomes.
  • Implement strategies to reduce hospital readmissions and improve chronic disease management.
  • Collaborate with care teams to develop patient-centered care plans.

Medical Management:

  • Oversee medical management activities, including utilization management and clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure appropriate use of medical resources and adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Lead efforts to reduce unnecessary medical costs while maintaining quality care.

Utilization Management:

  • Manage utilization review processes to ensure efficient use of healthcare services.
  • Develop and implement policies to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and analyze utilization data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Pharmacy Management:

  • Oversee pharmacy services, including formulary management and medication therapy management.
  • Ensure safe and effective use of medications across the network.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy teams to implement cost-effective medication strategies.

Provider Engagement:

  • Foster strong relationships with network providers to enhance collaboration and engagement.
  • Develop and implement provider education and training programs.
  • Address provider concerns and feedback to improve network performance.

Innovation and Technology:

  • Lead the adoption of innovative technologies to streamline administrative processes and improve care delivery.
  • Implement digital health solutions to enhance patient engagement and outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in healthcare.

Strategic Planning and Expansion:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and expansion of Altais' network in California and beyond.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and development within the network.
  • Collaborate with market leaders to achieve organizational objectives.

Network Oversight:

  • Oversee the Brown and Toland network, Altais Care Network, and Altais Care Alliance Network.
  • Ensure clinical integration across all networks to drive cohesive and high-quality care.
  • Drive clinical performance on ACO/PPO programs to meet and exceed performance metrics.

The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution, board certification in a relevant California medical specialty.
  • Advanced degree in healthcare administration, public health, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of clinical experience, including 8+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with innovative care models, healthcare technologies, and multi-state healthcare organizations.
  • Deep understanding of California healthcare regulations, market dynamics, and quality improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of risk adjustment, care management, and utilization management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • Dedication to enhancing patient care and provider satisfaction.
