Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with complex needs, including homelessness, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness. As the region's leading provider of services to multiply disabled adults who have experienced chronic homelessness, DESC serves nearly 3,000 people each day. Our integrated service model aims to help individuals secure and maintain safe and affordable housing. **Job Overview: Coordinated Service Provider**

We are seeking energetic and passionate Service Coordinators to manage daily operations at our Mary Pilgrim Inn. As a Coordinated Service Provider, you will be responsible for delivering critical survival services as part of a large team committed to serving vulnerable citizens.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain order and communicate agency rules and policies effectively.
  • Intervene in client crises, providing support for medical, mental health, and interpersonal issues.
  • Initiate and maintain social interactions with clients, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Monitor dorms, bathrooms, and dayrooms to ensure client safety and security.
  • Consult with staff and outside agencies regarding client issues and needs.
  • Provide information on social and health services, procedures, and referrals.

**Requirements:**

  • Basic understanding of homelessness and its challenges.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with clients displaying a wide range of behaviors.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience working with mental health and substance use challenges.
