Position Summary

The Purchasing Specialist will play a crucial role in managing procurement operations within our organization. This position involves sourcing suppliers, ensuring compliance with technical specifications for purchased goods, negotiating purchasing agreements, and assessing supplier performance. Additionally, the specialist will oversee timely deliveries and address any supply chain discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales and purchase orders in alignment with company policies.
  • Research and select high-quality products and materials for procurement.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers while negotiating favorable pricing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock is maintained appropriately.
  • Coordinate logistics for delivery schedules and inventory management.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of suppliers, including their qualifications and delivery capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for vendors, freight handlers, and internal departments regarding purchasing inquiries.
  • Support the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams with billing matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, purchase orders, and vendor management is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Capacity to multitask and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated initiative in fulfilling responsibilities.
