Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for handling procurement activities for our company. The purchasing specialist's responsibilities include sourcing new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. The purchasing specialist will also be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any supply issues or discrepancies.


Duties & Functions

  • Prepare and process sales and purchase orders in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
  • Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
  • Plan and manage the logistics of delivery schedules and inventory levels
  • Develop and maintain list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
  • Point of contact for vendors, freight handlers, customers, and internal sales departments regarding all purchasing matters.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Team regarding customer and vendor billing.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

Qualifications & Standards

  • Previous experience with customer service, purchase orders, and vendor drop shipments preferred.
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office Suite.
  • Problem-solving skills and excellent time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate with others at all levels.
  • Must be able to multi-task and problem solve fast and effectively.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team.
  • Must have demonstrated initiative to complete responsibilities.
