Role Overview: We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to oversee the development, execution, and management of our Safety, Health, and Environmental systems. This position is crucial for ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and fostering a workplace that prioritizes safety and health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to management and staff on matters related to Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance.
  • Lead the Safety Committee in all safety-related activities, including training programs, safety audits, and site assessments.
  • Oversee the workers' compensation program, facilitating communication with healthcare providers and managing claims effectively.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on workplace injuries to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Stay updated on OSHA regulations and implement necessary changes to safety procedures.
  • Design and deliver safety training for new hires and conduct annual refresher courses.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Identify hazardous conditions through inspections and provide recommendations for compliance.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring and maintain compliance with waste disposal regulations.
  • Act as the Spill Coordinator and manage environmental reporting obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or Engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing safety programs.
  • Proven experience in managing workers' compensation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
