Position Overview:

Stony Brook Medicine is in search of committed Practical Nursing Specialists / Graduate Practical Nursing Specialists to contribute significantly to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will be tasked with assessing and addressing health concerns utilizing advanced nursing practices and methodologies. Your role will encompass delivering care that promotes health and wellness, following prescribed medical protocols, and closely observing residents for any alterations in their condition.

Primary Duties:
  • Deliver nursing services to residents in accordance with established medical care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as outlined in care plans
  • Support residents with daily living activities and maintain accurate progress documentation
  • Engage in effective communication with supervisors, residents, and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs
Work Environment:

This position may involve exposure to various health-related risks and urgent situations, necessitating prompt and efficient responses. You will operate in a dynamic environment and collaborate with a diverse range of healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Qualifications:
  1. Current LPN license in New York State
  2. Experience in healthcare with adult populations
  3. Background in long-term care and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
