Position Overview:
The Community Reception Specialist acts as the welcoming face of the community. This role encompasses receptionist duties and other responsibilities to support the effective administration of the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create a positive first impression for all who enter the community
- Answer and manage all incoming phone calls in a professional manner, directing calls and taking messages as needed
- Greet all visitors warmly and professionally
- Ensure visitors sign in at the reception desk
- Notify residents of their visitors
- Provide instructions to visitors as per resident requests
- Handle incoming mail and process outgoing mail/packages
- Perform clerical tasks such as typing, copying, and maintaining office supply inventory
- Keep the Emergency Phone Number Log updated and accessible at the front desk
- Maintain updated emergency contact information for each resident
- Assist management with various clerical tasks
- Page staff as necessary
- Manage RSVPs for special events
- Oversee sign-ups for scheduled transportation
- Distribute maintenance request forms and forward them to the Environmental Services Director
- Carry out additional duties as required, including light housekeeping tasks

Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all emergency protocols
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures

Communication:
- Communicate effectively with all staff members
- Promptly inform the Lifestyle Services Director, Resident Care Director, and General Manager of any changes in resident health status

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to diverse individuals
- Strong initiative and sound judgment
- Proficient in word processing and clerical tasks
- Flexibility to work varied hours and participate in holiday activities

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend and reach
- Capable of sitting for extended periods

Miscellaneous:
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Potential for shifts outside of regular hours
- May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day)
- Possible exposure to infectious materials and challenging resident behaviors
- Background checks and drug tests may be required as per HR policies
