Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients. Your strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will make you a valuable asset to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet patients in a professional manner and assess their needs to ensure a positive experience.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assist with completing necessary forms.
• Direct patients on next steps, inform them of delays and wait times, and schedule appointments using provider templates and scheduling guidelines.
• Proactively request payments from patients and process them according to procedures.
• Support administrative functions, address patient concerns, and perform paperwork as needed.
• Coordinate with other care teams and employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.
Requirements:
• Six months of customer service experience with interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• One year of customer service experience, especially in a hospital or medical office.
• Problem-solving ability, analytical skills, self-motivation, and ability to work well in a clinic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment:
• Work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interactions with patients, employees, and other care teams.
• Use computers and other office equipment to perform tasks.
• Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
