Position Summary

The Senior Voice Systems Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, developing, integrating, testing, documenting, and overseeing the implementation of advanced communication systems. This role involves working on various systems including analog and digital voice communication technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage project timelines, applying communication engineering standards and methodologies.
  • Utilize advanced engineering principles to develop innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the formulation of new engineering concepts and practices.
  • Engage in complex problem-solving, providing creative and effective solutions.
  • Set long-term objectives and self-initiate assignments.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization on advanced projects.
  • Advise management and clients on technical research and studies.
  • Identify and prioritize tasks to meet critical project milestones.
  • Coordinate with clients on technical projects, providing consultation on scope and timelines.
  • Define system requirements and establish voice communication architectures.
  • Create detailed installation designs and documentation for voice communication systems.
  • Develop acceptance test procedures and operational instructions.
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to maintain accurate system drawings.
  • Integrate custom and commercial off-the-shelf products into existing systems.
  • Conduct sustaining engineering tasks, including part replacements and software updates.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for escalated technical issues.
  • Generate engineering instructions for design and configuration modifications.
  • Source materials and components that comply with system specifications.
  • Evaluate system upgrade projects and provide estimates for labor and materials.
  • Address a variety of moderate complexity issues effectively.
  • Operate under general supervision.

Qualifications

  • 16+ years of experience in systems engineering within communication systems.
  • Prior experience with NASA communication systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Quintron and Frequentis intercommunication systems.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles and technologies.
  • Proficient in IP networking, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and database management.
  • Basic understanding of T-Carrier systems and DC power systems.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen capable of passing a background investigation.
  • Must pass initial and random drug tests.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License is required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 16+ years of experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering with 14 years of experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Work primarily in a controlled environment, with occasional outdoor site visits.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required.
