About the Role

Maine Veterans' Homes is a leading provider of senior care, dedicated to serving Maine's veterans and their families. Our mission is to deliver exceptional care and comfort to those who have served our country.

The Activities Aide plays a vital role in our team, responsible for designing and implementing engaging activities that promote the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of our residents. This includes collaborating with the Activities Supervisor and Activities Assistant to ensure a seamless flow of activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate small and large group activities, including volunteer-led initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal and state regulations governing long-term care activity programs and gerontology activities.
  • Develop and maintain a keen interest in activities and working with geriatric individuals.
Requirements

We seek an individual with a Certificate of Completion from a state-approved patient activities coordinator program, or equivalent experience. A strong interest in activities and working with geriatric individuals is essential, with geriatric activities experience and nursing home experience preferred. A valid driver's license is also required.
