Position Overview:

In this role, you will be immersed in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment where you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality patient care.

Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established guidelines.
  • Execute both routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making skills in technical testing and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls.
  • Deliver accurate and timely test results to enhance patient care.
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control activities.
  • Identify and restock necessary testing supplies as required.
  • Assist in specimen processing when necessary.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience in clinical laboratory testing.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is advantageous.
  • Possession of any relevant state license if applicable.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must successfully pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Willingness to work overtime or adjust shifts based on business requirements.
