Pride Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to support our client's medical facility in Burlington, NC. This is a 3-month assignment opportunity with the possibility of extension or conversion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
- Work under the supervision of a medical technologist to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean medical laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Analyze test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs, and narratives.
- Obtain specimens, cultivate, isolate, and identify microorganisms for analysis.
- Examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities and consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in medical technology or vocational training preferred.
- 0-2 years' experience in a medical laboratory setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
