Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the suitability of specimens for testing based on established guidelines.
  • Execute standard and complex technical tasks in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exhibit proficiency in making informed technical decisions related to testing and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare and evaluate new reagents or controls for testing.
  • Deliver precise and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control activities.
  • Manage and replenish laboratory supplies as needed.
  • Assist in specimen processing when required.
  • Uphold a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • At least 1 year of experience in clinical laboratory testing.
  • Certification from ASCP or AMT is advantageous.
  • Possession of any relevant state license, if applicable.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Competence in computer use; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must successfully pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as business needs arise.
