Position Overview:
As a Lead Technician, you will be integral to our operations, ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory testing. You will be responsible for:
- Assessing specimen acceptability based on established guidelines.
- Executing both routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting laboratory instruments to maintain optimal performance.
- Making informed technical decisions related to testing and resolving issues.
- Preparing and evaluating new reagents and controls.
- Delivering precise and timely test results to support patient care.
- Conducting preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
- Managing the inventory of testing supplies.
- Assisting with specimen processing as required.
- Upholding a safe laboratory environment by adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical laboratory testing.
- Certification from ASCP or AMT is advantageous.
- State licensure as required.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in computer systems; familiarity with laboratory information systems is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Capability to pass a standardized color vision screening.
- Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed.
